TEACH BETTER.
-
Focus on your teaching quality and the student's competency rather than thumbing thru the regs.
-
Know with confidence your lessons are per FARs and that everything required is getting done.

-
Maintain to-the-minute situational awareness of where you and your student are in the syllabus.

-
Provide your student big-picture proficiency progress reports immediately after each lesson.
LOG SMARTER.
-
Save time. Simultaneously track and log tasks as they happen whether on the ground or in the air.
-
Throw out the pen. Make all log entries digital (and legible) populated verbatim as described in the FAR.

-
Stop counting. Leverage technology to calculate on-demand totals of your student's times and tasks.

-
Find fast. Use COMPASS search capability to find exactly what you're looking for in mere seconds.
Discover the difference
COMPASS
makes with your very first lesson.
RIGHT is a student pilot's first flight lesson logbook entry using COMPASS. The CFI taught his student AND documented over 25 training items. That's 23 (or 900%) more items than the student with the traditional pen and paper logbook. There is NO question what the CFI taught that training period. Not only is entry legibility crystal clear, all go into his student's database which auto-calculates her flight time and tasks.

TRADITIONAL LOGBOOKS
BELOW are traditional logbook entries of a student pilot's first two flights. While the instructor likely taught a lot more than two (2) training items to the student that first flight lesson, legally 2 is all anyone can give him/her credit for. That could wind up being a problem later on. Especially if this student changes instructors. Vx Development believes students deserve better than this. CFIs can easily give their students full credit and account for what they've taught using COMPASS.

Basics
We've programmed them in.
Code of
Federal Regulations
§61.51 Pilot logbooks.
(h) Logging training time.
(1) A person may log training time when that person receives training from an authorized instructor in an aircraft, full flight simulator, flight training device, or aviation training device.
(2) The training time must be logged in a logbook and must:
(i) Be endorsed in a legible manner by the authorized instructor; and
(ii) Include a description of the training given, the length of the training lesson, and the authorized instructor's signature, certificate number, and certificate expiration date.
Each and every entry is "for the record."
What you place in your student's logbook is defined in Federal Regulations. Don't give them anything less. With COMPASS, you can do nothing but LOG the right way, every day, every time. It's just that easy.
Training not documented, is training not done.
We get it, there's just not enough room in the traditional logbook to put everything a CFI covers in one lesson. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. COMPASS has no such constraints. Give your student ALL the credit he/she deserves as easy as a tap on your iPAD. They earned it.
Admissible as evidence in a court of law.
Because your student's logbook is a legal document it can be used to support and defend what you did or did not cover during the course of their training. No other platform comes close to COMPASS in capturing all you taught as you taught it.

COMPASS is invaluable for CFIs that for whatever reason had to walk away from teaching and now are back. Same goes for CFIs in, or recently out of the military. These pilots have excellent teaching skills but lack the knowledge of current GA rules, regulations and requirements. Sure, they could look them up and rebuild their lesson plans themselves, but why? COMPASS does the work for them!
